This is the third U-tube I have bought for my tank in the last month or so and all of this model. I bought two from a local aquarium supply store, one arrived cracked and the other broken. I don't know what kind of plastic it is, but it's very flimsy if it can't go a few miles behind a padded car. The last one I ordered from Revain came UNBOXED in a box with a metal nozzle. Regardless of the reason, 3/3 of the damaged/broken items that arrive at my house indicate that the plastic used is simply poor quality. I cannot recommend this product under any circumstances and suggest looking for a different brand overflow hose.
