I needed something so certain apps wouldn't stop when my phone was in my pocket and they "sensed" me pressing a soft key. This is usually done with exercise apps. I used to keep my smartphone in the side cargo pocket and didn't usually have this problem, but now I wear fewer pants with side cargo pockets and also most side cargo pockets are not designed to be easily accessible. This case is the "right size" and has the "right access" and I could actually fit 3 phones in it not that I have 3 but at its size 3 large smartphones would not be a problem with this case. I use a small zippered compartment for things I don't use like a small metal clip and a neck holder. This case is well built and I see no reason why it shouldn't last a few years. at least. My primary smartphone is the LGv60 ThinQ 5G with a screen, so it's by no means a small phone and it fits PERFECTLY in most "slots" of the case. This bag will also be a godsend when I need to move around data centers when I leave my phone on my desk as when crawling the phone tends to move into the pocket I put it in.
