I use these inlet and outlet tube brushes on my under tank filtration system, they do a great job cleaning elbows and several foot long tubes. .Use them once every three months or when the accumulation gets too big, they fit into the tube with very little effort and leave no marks, which of course is very important if you want to get something right the first time. Of course, aquarium maintenance is a collection of many things you do, but filtration is certainly at the heart of a healthy aquarium, and clean hoses are critical to water flow. I am very happy with the end result and highly recommend this product
