This solves a big problem for me. We have 2 cars that are not used often and the car battery is often too weak to start the car when we need it, especially when it's cold outside. I charged them with a battery pack (charger) which I had to place under the fairing using the supplied jumper clips, but this requires the fairing to remain unlocked to allow the power cord to be connected to the charger. . With this adapter I can just plug it into the cigarette lighter, then plug it into the charger and run the extension through the door seal. It also allows me to leave the charger on the dash where I can see the status lights through the windshield to make sure the charger is doing its job. This allows me to zip the hood up, lock the doors, and keep the charger out of the elements. ATTENTION: There are two versions of this - each with a different polarity of wiring to the SAE quick connector. This version is used to power the battery. The other version (reverse polarity wiring to SAE connector) is designed to receive battery power to power auxiliary equipment in the vehicle. (I didn't notice that at first. Now I'm the happy owner of both versions). Excellent design and build quality, high quality wiring and connectors, with a power control LED integrated into the cigarette lighter plug.
