If you are using a P95 filter (10 pack) and you don't need anything, you need more than protection from solid particles passing under them. They act as a platform to connect to your mask and to elevate and provide air channels for passage through the P95 filters. If you use an odor filter, you don't need it. My setup looks like this: - 3M 5P71PB1 6000 P95 Series Particulate Filter, 10 pcs. per pack - 3M 501 filter holder for use with 5N11 and 5P71, 1 pc. - 3M 603 filter adapter, respirator system component (2 pack) - 3M half mask, reusable respirator, respirator Everything fits like a glove and works very well together to protect my lungs. If I need organic protection, I can just add it underneath.
