Contrary to popular belief, I will first list what I did not like: 1. The camera did not connect at all via the CTRONICS application. The camera, phone and router are in the same room, but the app does not recognize the camera.2. The video quality when using the proposed HiP2P client is terrible. Now for the good: 1. Connected with the included ethernet cable and HiP2p with no problems. Then Wi-Fi is easily configured. Even after multiple moves, including powering off and reconnecting, the WiFi reconnected in every case with no issues. 2. Since the video quality is not acceptable with the HiP2P client, I tried it with a web browser. I had to do some digging to find the camera's IP address as it is not listed anywhere in the P2P client. No big deal - a quick jump to my router's configuration page gave me an IP address. Enter the IP address in the browser and the interface will appear immediately. The video was blank at first, but it only took me a few minutes to realize that Flash was blocked and I needed to unblock it. The picture is in HD quality, the camera control works perfectly. Digital zoom only, no optical zoom. I haven't figured out how to scale with the web interface yet, but I'm sure I'll figure it out. Slight lag compared to the P2P client, but I'm willing to put up with that for the much better image quality.3. I tried the Android app and it connected with no problems. The image quality is roughly equivalent to that of a web browser. Digital zoom using the pinch method.4. I haven't figured out all the motion sensors and other bells and whistles, but it doesn't look too complicated. Overall I was very happy with my newest camera. Unfortunately, he died in the hurricane. IP67 doesn't mean flood protection I guess. To be fair, it was completely open. This new camera is installed under a canopy so should be a little better protected. So far, I am very satisfied. Great picture, good response and it looks like it can be unplugged and plugged back in so it should be fine when we have power outages. However, I want lower end cameras to have both 2.4 and 5 GHz connectivity. I had to reconfigure my router a bit as the camera is some distance away and unfortunately couldn't connect to my separate mesh network which has a node closer to where the camera is installed. The mesh network probably works with 2.4 and 5 GHz, but is not recognized by the camera. Good quality at a good price! Highly recommended if you don't mind spending a little time on the initial setup.
