You Don't Need To Get Down on Your Knees to Install It.

It took much more effort to install my previous commode seat and more effort to remove it than it did to install the new one. At my age it is not easy to get back up if I must get down on the floor, and many friends my age cannot be on their knees because they have had knee surgery.I do not have any built-in talent for putting things together or installing them; that is for sure. But I am considering patting myself on the back for installing this commode seat. After wondering why the silicone pads didn't seem to fit right and wondering how I would get the hinge lids to close over them, I watched the installation video and learned that the silicone pads go UNDERNEATH the hinge sections. After that revelation, I found the new commode seat quite easy to install. I just needed to hold the bottom part (called the nut, I think) while I used my little stubby screwdriver to tighten the bolt from the top on each side. The seat fits perfectly and is so shiny and white that it is a pleasant replacement for the old seat. This new seat does not have any sharp edges to leave lines on your body if you sit a little too long, and it is thicker than my old cheap commode seat so that extra height makes it easier for an old body to rise from the seat. This new one has two hinges that are NOT connected to each other, and I think that factor may help to keep the seat steady. My old commode seat had a piece that connected the two hinges, and after many years, that piece broke and enabled the seat to slide back and forth giving me exercise I didn't really want.I installed the new commode seat just two days ago so don't know how sturdy it is or how easy it is to clean, but so far I will give it 5 stars. And if you want to get down on your knees, maybe you would pray for the coronavirus situation, but you won't need to get down on your knees to install this commode seat.
