These are sturdy as advertised with plastic on the outside. The ones I received had cosmetic defects from the plastic molding process on the bumpers under the lid, so every time I would lift the lid, I would see the defects.If you like the feel of wooden seats and want a consistent appearance (no defects in plastic), then these are not for you. If you’re looking for a sturdy seat and you don’t mind if it feels like plastic and has some cosmetic imperfections, then these are great.

Due to its exterior material, this seat looks more like plastic than wood. It's weightier, though -- not as heavy as a traditional wooden seat, but much more sturdy than plastic ones. I can sit on the lid without it yielding at all, but I am fairly petite. For me it's the best of both worlds -- clean-looking, shiny and substantial.

I replaced a cushion seat with this one. I almost didn't buy this one because of the reviews that talked about the lid not being wood. I just wanted to say that the lid is solid and feels "right". It's not flimsy at all, which is what I thought the other reviews were saying. Other than that, it works as advertised and was easier to install than some other seats. I'm happy with my purchase.

The off white color is deeper than I expected. And it slips a little. It gets a little loose at the connection between the seat and the toilet. That being said, I think it is just not exactly made to fit my toilet. But it’s pretty close! And the price was right! It is shiny and smooth. Nice looking. I’ve had it installed for about a month. I would definitely buy this again, and I would recommend it to my friends.

This is a very comfortable and sturdy toilet seat. Once installed I never have any issues with it loosening or moving around. Very good quality for the price. I’ve ordered this product multiple times.

Doesn't wiggle or feel flimsy. Well worth the extra cost above slightly lower cost competitors made of thin plastic. The wooden material may produce an unpleasant odor over time!

I bought this in "white" and it matches very well with the toilet (Glacier Bay). It fits perfectly on the commode which is round, not elongated. Looks like it will be easy to keep clean. It's not a soft-close toilet but I don't need that. Reasonably priced too so I hope this will last a long time

The seat itself is attractive and looks like it will wear very well. The opening is a tad smaller than my old elongated seat. The problem is it moves and the cheap nuts and bolts are plastic and have not secured the seat for a heavy guy like me. Now I'm going to have to buy metal bolts and screws to secure it firmly, a job I did not want.
