Adhesive on both sides

I don't know why but they are adhesive on both sides. If you have a DVR or something else that you don't want to leave in your car all the time, then this isn't for you. I don't want to leave a $200 DVR under my windshield all the time. It is held so tightly that you will find it very difficult to remove it from the dashboard. I don't really know why they make them like this because if you're using a suction cup you obviously want to be able to pick your item up and off the baseplate.
