Tall but flat in seasonal decor

Based on other reviews I was hoping they were fancier. They are cute but I wanted to use them as a toy/decoration in the form of a cool stocking. I probably will, but I was hoping for something more substantial. Also, many have very sharp bits of hot glue sticking out that I had to cut off.
