I've tried holding my iPhone 6 with it, but there's no easy way to connect the headphones.
Finding the right water bottle is difficult. I finally found a cheap option in the Target Dollar section that *almost* fits in, but now I don't think I'll be using it again. It's hard to get it tight enough around my waist so it bounces too much when I run. I have tried using it to hold my iPhone 6 but there is no easy way to plug in the headphones so they partially protrude from the pocket so they don't twist and I'm afraid they will fall out.
