I have these in the car (center console side). Keeps the phone out of sight (I have Carplay) but I can easily grab it when needed. The 3M tape wasn't strong enough to hold the textured console, so I used heavier double sided tape. I also put a pair in my RV near the bed. Keeps the phone out of the way but within reach. 3M tape works great there. I installed by holding the phone from both sides and observing the mount first. Then stick the tape on the left side and stick it. Then I stick the tape on the right side of the arm, bring it to the phone and put it in the side already installed. I look at it again and open a tiny gap so the phone isn't too tight and then press it firmly. It's a bit pricey for two pieces of plastic, but it works and looks way better than other mounts I've seen.
