Sleepytime Extra has the same flavor as the regular version (which I love) but with the addition of valerian it makes it even more relaxing. This stuff throws me off in a good way - I think valerian/chamomile is a great combo. I've had trouble sleeping my whole life and almost always wake up feeling dead. I've tried melatonin, been prescribed sleeping pills (Ambien, Lunesta, Trasedone) and even resorted to drinking Benadryl at night - apparently none of this was stable and of little help. I'm sure others who have received this tea have experienced the same thing. a type of insomnia, and here's how I've had some success: 1. Make this tea a part of your evening routine. Think of it like a trigger. You have to program your brain so that when you drink this tea it knows it's time for bed. It will take a few weeks but try to be consistent. You build a habit.2. I personally add 300mg of theanine to tea to improve sleep quality. Studies have been done on this amino acid in relation to relaxation and sleep and I have found that I wake up earlier and feel much more rested. Theanine is not very expensive, you can order it from Revain from Bulk Supplements.3. Stay away from your phone, TV and computer at night. Blue light suppresses the brain's natural production of melatonin, making it even more difficult to fall asleep. It took me a long time to find something that works. Try it for a few weeks, maybe it works for you too.
