Review on 🖌️ Durable Enameled Brushed 44BNA by MAYFAIR by John Pound

When I first installed this seat I wrote a 5 star review specifically citing "brushed nickel hinges". I hate toilet seat hinges that rust (and I hate plastic hinges even more) so I figured I'd finally found a manufacturer who spent an extra twenty cents and installed hinges that last a long time and don't go bad. I recently did a deep clean. my bathroom. I sprayed Clorox bathroom cleaner with bleach all over the seat to restore a clean white finish. After three days I noticed what looked like rust on the hinges, but the nickel doesn't rust. I went to wipe it clean and found the hinges were cheap metal with a thin nickel colored plastic laminate. The plastic completely disintegrated after a Clorox cleaning and now I have ugly metal hinges that oxidize quickly and can break at any time. This makes me very angry. Honestly this is a scam; the description on this page even says "brushed nickel". If you're a lousy homeowner and just want to throw a cheap toilet seat down the toilet, you can buy cheaper, disappointing seats. But if you are a homeowner who actually cleans your bathroom, you will be greatly disappointed if you ever use any type of chemical that can destroy the bond between the rogue "nickel" plastic plating and the cheap metal plating. I honestly don't see a market for this chair. It's too expensive for what it is and too cheaply made for what people are willing to pay that price for. And all just to round up a tiny fraction of the construction cost. What cheap fools. I'd be happy to pay the extra 20 cents. Do not buy this item.
