Peace of mind is best in portable audio and video

I needed a simple, reliable and inexpensive way to keep up with the latest weather updates and this radio fit the bill perfectly. PROS: Lightweight and well built with basic functionality. With this radio you can either follow the latest updates from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) (in ON mode) or simply receive alerts on dangerous events in your immediate area. The reception is excellent and the sound is clear. If you just want to be notified of emergencies, this alert mode gadget will basically wake you up in the middle of the night so you can get out of the house immediately. --Now you can have peace of mind 24/7. I believe those living on the coast like me would benefit from having one of these warning devices for protection against tidal surges or other emergencies. CONS: The plastic case is thin, light and fragile, so it needs to be handled with care. The antenna is strong but due to its protruding nature it can get stuck or break if not careful; It is advisable to follow the example of the internal antennas of smartphones, which eliminate this risk. CONCLUSION: This NOAA equipped radio is functional, affordable, and can give you peace of mind by waking you up in the middle of the night to warn you of impending danger. Danger to you and your loved ones. Considering the price and quality, I recommend gifting a pair to someone you care about. UPDATE (05/26): Battery life will decrease rapidly if you leave it in alarm mode overnight. I had a completely dead battery after about 4 days when turned on in alarm mode. I still highly recommend this product - just remember to check the lifespan (using the TEST button), replace and charge the batteries regularly.
