I bought this product on January 28th and I use it about 1-2 times a month when I do manicures and pedicures. I always wash, sanitize and sanitize them after each use and don't see any rust as I wrap them (along with other nail tools) in a paper towel and store them in a paper bag to prevent rusting. I use a cuticle softener and then CAREFULLY push back/scratch/cut away dead cuticles with no problem. Does what it should and is worth the price! For those who don't know: Eponychium (often incorrectly referred to as cuticle): This is skin, living tissue. It is designed to protect the matrix from infection and bacteria. So if the skin is attached to the nail plate, it's still eponychium. Many nail salons and people cut them off which they SHOULD NOT. True cuticles: This is non-living tissue that attaches directly to the nail plate. Only trim hanging nails and real cuticles.
