Completely incompatible. Raw chicken just placed on the smoker reads 174 degrees. Place another probe, the readings will be completely different. Used 3 times and each time more inconsistencies. When I think everything is fine and I return to the house, the temperature changes completely, for example 40 degrees higher than 15 seconds ago. I tested them without meat, only outdoors. The difference is 15-20 degrees. The bottom line is that these probes fail quickly or this article is simply untrustworthy. 3 probes not reading correct temperature at all. Again. only used 3 times. Update: 01/23/2021: 6 months later. All probes are no longer reliable and are COMPLETELY different and inconsistent. I put them all in a cup of ice water and they're completely broken! One showed a good 72 degrees, all others were far from ice water. Update 10/25/2020: I have been able to use this product since my last post but after each use one of the probes seems to be failing. . I hand wash them and take care of the items I buy, but I only have a few samples at the moment. Here is a test I did in ice water. I didn't show it in the video but I did it on an individual level and they failed.
