I've spent a lot of time talking to HP support about my 'new' HP Chromebook. The Chromebook is NEW, but HP's warranty begins on the date the seller takes possession of it, not the date it was purchased by a Revain customer. This Chromebook sat on a shelf in brand new packaging for several months before I bought it from Revain. HP required me to provide proof of purchase for all warranty service but would not accept the Revain order status page to be printed and sent to HP. From HP's point of view, the warranty begins when the wholesaler takes delivery of the product, not when the end customer orders it.
