Review on Darn Tough Mountaineering Extra Cushion by Brandon Micali

Nicely cut, well detailed, good fit and very comfortable socks. I have over 100 pairs of hiking socks that I have collected over the years, all from top brands. These are the best socks I've found so far. As for "climbing socks", I'll take Darn Tough's word for it. They're not as thick as some of the expedition socks I've had, but with the tighter weave that Darn Tough uses, I have a feeling they'll be just as warm as the thicker, more loosely woven, high-performance socks that some reviewers mention. With winter approaching in Colorado, it's time for a comparison test. I'll try to do an update when I can make a judgment on that. I agree with those who say that you need to size up with this sock. I am a size 11.5-12 in hiking boots and the extra large (XL) fits very well but allows for a bit of shrinkage over time.
