This was a huge waste of money. There is nothing effective in it. One of the side pieces doesn't go all the way in and nothing is holding it in place so it just keeps coming out. As other reviewers have noted, the front end breaks down. My 5kg dog can't put weight on it and it doesn't fall. The material holding the clip that attaches to the seat belts is too long. I bought some large safety pins that you use on cloth diapers to shorten them but it didn't work. So, with the pages falling apart and the long binding, my dog just crawls out. In fact, the clips that attach to the seat belts broke after 3 uses. Again, my dog only weighs 5 pounds. We were driving down the road yesterday when a clip broke and she was suddenly able to jump into my husband's lap while he was driving. I ended up buying small seat belts to use. Please don't waste your money or rely on it to protect your dog. Very disappointed.
