SPEAKER POSITIONING IS NECESSARY FOR SUFFICIENT VOLUME!

We've had a pair of Shark intercoms for four years and decided to replace them because the battery life was declining. We use our intercoms when riding side-by-side on a Polaris RZR. After installing these new devices, my wife started complaining about the lack of volume. I measured her head to find the center of her ear and marked the helmet where the center of her ears should be. Then she put the helmet on and I measured from the tip of her nose to make sure the speakers were properly centered. Repeated loudness tests showed a significant improvement in loudness. A CORRECT LOUDSPEAKER POSITION IS NECESSARY FOR SUFFICIENT VOLUME! We took the RZR and drove around making sure the volume was good. We also checked the line of sight and it's a whopping 400 meters before it starts to crack. It's even better than our previous Shark devices. I installed the devices with the included Velcro because the included fixed mounts are similar to the Shark and don't last long if you remove these devices frequently. When using fixed mounts, charge the helmet mounted units. I also mounted them high enough so that the connector and lanyard don't touch the surface when the helmet is lying flat when not in use. This can damage the port interface over time. I have read all the reviews and I can assure you that the volume is good when using the intercom. The assortment is good. Pairing devices is easy and the devices come with pairing memory. So when you turn the devices back on, all you have to do is press the intercom button on any device, wait about 6 seconds and it will pair again. This is how most devices in this price range work. You will hear a beep when pairing again. Can't comment on the quality of the other features or long-term reliability, but setup, pairing, speaker volume and range are all fine. At the moment I can recommend.
