This is by far the smallest IPL hair removal device I've seen

For several years there weren't even IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) devices for the home use . Now their pages are available on Revain. I have reviewed a large number of them and so far there has not been much difference between them in terms of hair removal. They all produce short, powerful flashes of light to influence hair growth. Some offer additional features such as active cooling "ICE" and/or multiple filters for different effects. But, as a rule, they remove all hair. Until now, these were all quite large devices. And this is where this IPL violates the norm. Unlike any other IPL I've tested, this one is very small and powered by a USB-C power adapter. There are two advantages to being small: 1) if you're planning to travel with an IPL, it's much more convenient and less bulky (if you're worried about the weight of your checked luggage); 2) If you intend to use it for a long time to remove a lot of hair, the lighter weight may be less tiring. Features of this IPL device: ** Performs hair removal only. ** NO ICE skin cooling function ** LCD screen displays number of flashes ** Light matrix below LCD displays power level (1-6) ** Very small form factor ** Powered by USB-C connector compatible with 18- W device's power adapter is connected ( included)** No lightning end caps** Rated for approx. ) Connect the USB-C power cable to the IPL and the other end to a USB-C power source. Plug the power adapter into the wall (the unit is NOT battery operated - it must be plugged into the mains). 2) Turn on the device using the power switch next to the LCD. 3) Select the power level to use (You have six levels and you switch between them with the dedicated "Level" button next to the large flash button. The level is indicated by the number of lights illuminating below the LCD screen. 4) Place the front of the device opposite the skin you wish to treat and press the large flash button. (You can also set the device to "Auto" mode, where it will flash each time it's pressed against your skin. To put it into automatic mode, press the special "Auto" button next to the big one flash button). There is a few seconds of refractory time after a boost before you can flare up again. The light is extremely strong and can damage your eyes with prolonged direct exposure. So never look directly into the light, and cheap folding glasses are included. The light is activated by sensors on the front of the device. With very slow movement I was able to capture the light (see photos). But the burn time is very short (about 1/100 second). Run the tool over the area where you want to remove hair, making sure to uncover all the hair follicles in that area. You won't see instant results. The light signals that your hair has stopped growing, but it takes multiple treatments over several weeks before you see results. Eventually, you should see significant hair reduction in the treated areas. In the box you get a tool, a USB-C to USB-C cable, an 18W USB-C power adapter and a pair of eyes. Goggles, a cheap disposable razor plus instructions. This tool is rated for approximately 996,000 flashes. (So it should probably take longer than your interest in it). The hair removal capabilities of this device are pretty much on par with most other IPL devices you'll find at Revain. It offers a different level of intensity, but I don't think it makes much of a difference. The real star here is how small and light the IPL device is, and that it can be powered via USB-C. I think this is very important for those who plan to take the device on a trip. I'm not sure how important this will be for 100% home use, but since the device is lighter it's also less tiring to hold for long periods of time. Given the new shape, size, weight and charger. , and given the current price and Revain stock, it's an attractive and competitive option.

Pros
  • Upgrade 996,000 flashes and 6 energy levels
Cons
