Review on πŸ”€ USB Switch KVM Splitter HDMI 2 Port Box for Effortless Computer Sharing with One Keyboard, Mouse, and HD Monitor across Multiple Operating Systems by Robert Hayes

Quality: Excellent, Aesthetics: Not Great

My requirements for this switch were pretty simple. I have a Mac mini and MacBook Air and I want them to share a monitor, so all I need is an HDMI switch to control which computer is connected to the monitor. Since one of my computers is a laptop, I didn't have to switch to USB, but it's nice to have that option in the future. I love the simplicity of this device. You get a switch and two USB cables that you can use to connect to your computer's keyboard and mouse ports (if that's what you use it for). It doesn't come with HDMI cables, but I did have a few spares (I actually had to steal one from my DVD player, but haven't used it in years, so don't miss out). I connected the HDMI output cable to the monitor and the input cable to my laptop and Mac mini, and voila! It worked perfectly. There is a small switch (actually too small) that I press to toggle between my two computers. There are red LED indicators above the numbers "1" and "2" on the front panel, so you can immediately see which device is active. It works exactly how I need it. I think they could improve its aesthetic. The USB ports for the keyboard and mouse are on the front, so it will be difficult to hide the cables and position the switch in a convenient spot to press. And I really don't understand why they had to use such a large font for the text at the top of the radio button. I bought the device so I know what it is, I don't need it to buzz at the top of the switch (you can see it on one of the pictures I uploaded). Most people probably don't care, but if you're picky about the look of your workspace, it might bother you. So technically it's a great device, but I wish they'd spent a little more time on the aesthetics.
