Works well but always fails after 6 months or less

I've bought many of these barcode lasers over the years and they work fine for a while but usually start to die after a few months and stop working permanently within 6 months or so. It's frustrating, but at least they're cheap enough to buy over and over again.

Some bar code scanners wont work with an older version of access. this one works perfectly.
