Review on XPMP3H1 Portable Satellite Discontinued Manufacturer by Meech Elliott

Satisfied so far - car electronics

Before ordering the XMp3i I had two XM radios with valid contracts. XM Delphi MyFi portable and built into the original XM dashboard in the 2009 Hyndai Sonata. My first action when XMp3i arrived was to call XM Radio and ask them to cancel Delphi MyFi and activate XMp3i. This turned out to be much more difficult than it should have been and MyFi was still active several hours later. The XM reps I spoke to - activation required contact with three of them - told me that my radio should be fully functional within 15 minutes of activation. Not correct! Almost 40 minutes passed and I started to worry that I might have a defective device. Finally the device worked and I tested it in both portable and docked modes. Both worked great. Portable reception was excellent, but it should be noted that I live in San Diego County and XM has a powerful repeater on a nearby mountain. It's quite difficult to find a place west of the mountains where reception is compromised. My next step was to copy a group of MP3 files from my PC onto a Micro SDHC memory card and then paste them into the XMp3i. The radio reads the map perfectly. Next, I installed the unit in the docking station and recorded on 4 channels simultaneously for 1 hour. Everything went perfectly! In my opinion the audio quality of XMp3i is far superior to that of Delphi MyFi. I listen through a pair of Sennheiser headphones rather than the cheap earbuds that come with it. The LCD display is bright and bright, you can see it even in bright sunlight. The only complaint about the design of the battery case and lid pairing. I struggled for almost a minute before I finally managed to open it. Delphi MyFi has served me well for four years and I'm sure XMp3i will serve me well too.
