This connector is very well made and easy to fit. Although the wire hole is large enough to accommodate a 12GA speaker wire, there is not enough room to tighten the set screws to allow the cover to be screwed on. It only takes a couple of strands of cable to get the job done, but unless you plan to modify your cable this may not be the best choice. But for 14 or 16 GA wire they work very well and I would definitely recommend them.
