We bought this keyboard as a 'computer' for our 5 year old who has been pretending to have a job lately. It's a step up from the imaginary boxes and found computer objects glued together that he collected. It works better than we thought. He often played games and used one of our old iPads to study, but the addition of a keyboard increased his interest in reading words, basic reading and writing, and working with numbers. We even text each other in words and simple sentences while I'm at work and he's not at school. The keyboard itself works well. Sometimes there is a delay in typing when you first turn it on. The lighting connector doesn't seem to fit as well as it could. Sometimes a slight adjustment is required to securely insert the connector into the lighting slot. I still don't know/understand if it's supposed to charge the iPad via the keyboard connection (although I haven't looked at the manual on that) but the iPad's battery indicator never shows that it's charging. . In fact, last night during the bedtime stories (he uses an iPad for bedtime music) the battery indicator was red and would decrease over time when the keyboard was on and plugged in.
