So poor design and workmanship SELF DESTROYED when my medium sized dog first used it. an end. These two parts are connected by a metal ring. It is NOT fixed, it stays OPEN, just bent to close it. At the slightest pressure from the dog on the leash, the bend moves apart - and it literally falls apart in your hands.
