Unreliable scooters

Assembly was easy. I bought two for my twin daughters. Immediately two wheels of a scooter do not light up. When you have twins it's a little annoying when one twin has a roller that shines great and the other twin gets a rejected roller that wins. They don't glow properly. But now they are 6 years old and they care less about such things so everything was fine. A few days later the other twin was riding their scooter and the handlebars just came off! I know I assembled it correctly and when I looked closely the pin holding the steering wheel was plastic and broken in half. I was still within the 30 day return period. But stupidly I really didn't want to return it, it's a hassle between trying to take the thing apart, putting it back in the box and sending it back to Revain. It also seems wasteful to send back two scooters when I only need two new wheels for one and new handlebars for the other. So I filed a warranty claim instead so they could just send me new parts. Again, that was probably stupid, because if the steering wheel breaks in the first two weeks, the replacement will most likely do the same. It doesn't seem very secure. Anyway, it's been over 2 months since I asked for a wheel change and I haven't heard from the company. I contacted them about two weeks ago and they told me they were waiting for parts from their overseas factory. The fact that they don't have some basic parts for their own scooters here in the US means they either didn't plan for so many of them to break or they didn't really bother preparing for people who have already paid money . for scooters. I am extremely disappointed. Our previous scooters were also bought from Revain, made by Micro and were fantastic but the price has gone up a lot since I last bought them. If I only had to buy one it wouldn't be a huge problem, but it would cost me three times what these two did and I just couldn't justify the cost. Too bad I didn't buy them scooters at all after this experience. I would prefer them not to ride them at all than to be insecure and have a scooter collecting dust for months waiting for a part.
