I often hike my bike in Texas. More often than not, Texas weather combined with the limitations of a small tent calls for increased airflow. This fan fits the bill so I decided to give it a try. Before I went camping, I pulled out an anemometer to check how much airflow this fan was delivering. When set high, it generates an impressive 9 mph wind speed and moves air at 3.4 cubic feet per minute. On Medium it produces 8.2 mph and 30.9 cfm and on Low it produces 6.9 mph and 25.7 cfm. What does that mean for you? Aimed at arm's length on your face, it either feels like a gentle breeze (low), dries your eyeballs (medium), or ruins your hair (high). Now for the noise. I measured the sound of an engine at arm's length in my office. The background noise in my office is around 37 dB. The low speed fan in my office was 38db. The medium speed fan in my office was 42dB. The high speed fan in my office was 50dB. So loud? Of course. However, it should be noted that 50 dB is often compared to the background noise of a quiet office or a quiet street. So take what you want from it. I will update the rating with battery capacity and longevity after further testing. But for now I highly recommend this product.
