It took 2 minutes to mount this product on a tripod and another minute to mount the binoculars on it. The beauty of this mount is that the binoculars can be removed in seconds. Simply loosen the rubber bands and you're done. Vertical metal mounts require you to unscrew the binoculars from the mount, and you know that if you keep unscrewing and screwing something back in, the screw or nut will wear out over time. I also expected that when unscrewing the binoculars from the metal bracket, the binoculars could easily fall off.
