Review on 🚪 Munchkin Decorative Bronze Metal Baby Gate Extension, MKSA0658-011, 2.75 inches by Brandon Pape

We were looking for a gate that would add a bit of style without sacrificing usability and this gate gave us pleasure. The first arrived damaged but the replacement arrived in perfect condition. These gates are heavier than the ones you buy in the store and feel like they are well built and will last a long time. The clasp is easy to open with one hand and closes with a characteristic click. To operate the latch, push the buttons on the top and bottom of the mechanism and they work smoothly and easily. We've added some wall mounted grab trays and it seems very reliable. Our biggest dog put his paws on her and when she didn't move she immediately gave up. I also like that if you lay the gate flat you can open it all the way and it will stay open, but if you open it halfway and let go the gate itself is heavy enough to close on its own. If there's one thing that worries me, it's that the hinge is heavy and not metal like the rest of the gate. I will say that this is a very heavy plastic and I don't expect there will ever be any problems but it's just an odd design choice to have a gate that is 98% metal except for the most important part, the hinges. Again, this isn't cheap plastic and I would definitely buy another if I needed a second gate. Just pointing this out in case anyone is concerned. Update after 2 months. I see several reviews complaining about a broken hinge. Based on my experience returning my first one, I bet they had at least one tear from shipping. I suggest looking closely at the plastic parts when unpacking to check them. I haven't had any problems with mine so far.
