Well, these guys have failed at the basics: if a sensor is down, I don't get a notification that it's gone offline. But the icing on the cake: I tried accessing the disabled sensor via the app and everything works fine! Setting parameters etc. as if a sensor were present. So how do I know the sensor is up and working? UPDATE: ------------I got a reply from Govee that of course I don't see any status or notification because the sensor is dead and can't send it. I can't believe how stupid they are - I even gave them a hint - that's what the hub and aggregation are for - when the sensor stops aggregating the hub, the hub informs the app. That's how these things work. But no, the poor girl Nicole just couldn't understand anything. She found this behavior really normal and kept wondering why I think a dead sensor can send notifications! Okay, I understand that she doesn't know about this, but being so stupid as not to be able to read what I wrote about pools is already too much. After a few emails, she became thoughtful. She came up with: 1. Sensors never die.2. The sensor can only have dead batteries.3. If 2 happens I will be notified.4. So there is nothing to worry about! UPDATE: ---------- A guy named Mark replied that my request seemed reasonable. I asked her what the hell is she asking for? First, or fixing a bug that is causing the app to incorrectly access a dead sensor. Like her, he ignored this second part. Judging by the stars they have for various products and the amount of sales, it seems like they are doing well and can afford not to care. But they get one star for that approach. I wish they'd taken a little more care as the sensor really just lacks that tiny thing to be perfect. But I can't rely on it as it is, so nothing else matters. UPDATE: Time to raise the stars because after a month everything is working fine. Email and app notifications come as soon as I test one of the sensors. UPDATE 2: Even after multiple internet crashes and phone restarts, devices and the app keep sending notifications. The system appears to be recovering properly. I don't give more than 3 stars and only because I paid 30β¬. Actually, for $50, I'd look at Nest or Ring. Babysitting electronic devices in 2020 is ridiculous. UPDATE 2: Tried YoLink.1. Has the ability to send altrt when the hub is down. Doesn't work.2. Access to the sensor parameters also works when the sensor is switched off.3. There is no notification about the triggering of the sensor (away from home, far away).4. No alarm on the sensor.5. Expensive.
