The candles are made of real wax and the flames are very realistic. It even has a slight bluish tint at the base of the flame. I also like the remote control because I have it in my flashlight. The timer is also a good feature, 2, 4, 6 or 8 hours. When the time is up, it will turn off and automatically turn on again at the same time the next night. these candles are definitely worth $10. The only downside is that each candle runs on 3 AA batteries, but they last quite a long time. I will definitely buy again.
