this is not my first trackball and i haven’t used a mouse for a long time, so i won’t describe how trackballs are better than mice. the main and potentially critical drawback of this trackball is the lack of scrolling. under windows, the official driver provides 2 features for scroll emulation, but both of them are not very convenient in my (and not only mine) opinion and, moreover, are not always compatible with applications. if you search the internet (most likely you will need knowledge of english), you can find several alternative solutions. i use 2 softwares: to emulate the marble scroll from the former simans. Net site, which is now hard to find, and to remap the x-mouse button control buttons. both are free. there is another option using the autohotkey program, for which you will have to look for a script on their forum. on linux, this is easier. button remapping and scroll emulation is very well supported by the standard evdev driver. configured by default: mana, google, xorg. Conf, dont forget to restart x. on my system, i added the options read from man evdev to /etc/x11/xorg. Conf. D/*evdev. Conf . maybe there are graphical tweakers somewhere, i didnt look for it. with the exception of this shortcoming, marble is the epitome of elegant simplicity. the trackball fits comfortably in the hand, the buttons are comfortable to press, the ball is easily accessible and large enough. the unique advantage of this trackball is that the ball is about 2/3 open, so it is more convenient to make large movements in one continuous movement without losing accuracy. the symmetrical shape itself is good, but makes one of the top buttons hard to reach (you need to move the brush). wired, does not break. easy. doesnt slip. compact, about the size of a palm. it is practically not necessary to clean. the ball can be easily removed if needed. the price is good. a miracle, not a trackball. he would have to scroll .
