Review on Buttons Silicone Remote Protector 2004 2009 by Ben Rodriguez

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Barely does the job, just replacing a worn key fob case.

The plastic is clearly inferior to the factory key, dull, brittle and very hard. In fact, the worn rubber buttons that we're probably all trying to replace are hard plastic in this version. By doing this, you will literally dent the plastic shell until it flexes and depresses the button underneath. This makes locking/unlocking your Prius a very frustrating experience. So I'm reluctant to recommend this to the models that have a keyless door handle/push button. Let me pick this up, I don't recommend it as I really hate it, the back slides and the metal OEM door key falls off about every two in the process (probably because some of the plastic broke off in transit). weeks. I would never put that bunch of keys in the keyhole. Because he'll probably collapse inside one day, trapping him inside. So a reminder that you need an ugly but working key for it to be of ANY use to you. Both the electronics and the silver Toyota logo need to be grafted onto this pathetic keychain apology. Buying this ONLY because they don't have another replacement that I can find. If you do, buy this/anything else and let us all know.

Pros
  • handy thing
Cons
  • so far so good
