I'm glad I tried this on my sectional without the cushions before I took the plunge and used it to cover the cushions. This allowed me to see that this cover is not actually waterproof without destroying my sectional cushions. We had a pretty good rain the other night, resulting in a small pool of water on top of the cover. When I lifted the cover up, that same spot on my sectional was saturated. I just got this item a week ago, so there were definitely no tears or compromise in the actual integrity of the product, it just doesn't function as a waterproof cover at all. I guess on the plus side it will protect the wood of the sectional and keep it clean, but I will still have to bring in my cushions from outside when it rains. Since it's so new, durability remains to be seen, but I'm not very hopeful.
