The tool fits freely but snaps securely into the existing holder. It's not the strongest holder so I'm a bit concerned about long term use of the tool holder and how well it works with heavy tools. However, it was easy to install and provides additional storage space for other tools. It's hard not to compare it to the bulletproof durability of the Dyson holder, but I assume the holder should hold up well if you're a bit careful with adding and removing tools. Too bad Dyson doesn't make such a holder so I would recommend it if you want to store the extra tools that come with the vacuum.
