Beautiful box. It replaces a separate DVD player and VHS player and can also burn DVDs. It has a built in digital tuner and converts whatever is playing to the resolution of the TV. It has a digital output (HDMI) for connection to a TV. In my application I use my house antenna tuner to receive off air digital broadcasts and the cable input goes straight to the TV. I didn't realize how important the upconversion feature was until I saw it - it makes old media look like . better. In my spare time I hope to convert the VHS tapes I want to keep to DVD - this box can do that offline and unattended. Good value for money.
