Time will tell, but now: +.

Since I am naturally reluctant to commit to Chinese manufacture for important components, especially if they are potentially flammable, I took a chance with this device. So far, after only 4 days, I have to say that I am absolutely satisfied. There are a few unsavory aspects here, like cheap stickers showing what's on the dash and a fairly general feel to the whole, but the overall look is solid. The included cables are obviously a bad idea. Strictly speaking, for normal applications, a 3kW 24V inverter should be connected to 2/0 of a 175A DC breaker. I might even go up to 4/0, 250a if my intended use is to max this thing out often. Using the included double 4awgs is a little off the mark. I'm also not a fan of eyelets that are hand tightened with plastic buttons, although the connection seems secure enough. The lack of a remote I/O port for a simple toggle switch sucks. Apart from that: this inverter delivers what it promises. At least as far as I've tested so far. In fact, the only function is to turn on the two-wire submersible pump with a power of โ…“ HP. 110 V. This pump runs on 1.1 kW AC and draws an average of 39 amps DC from the battery. This does not place high demands on the inverter power, but by their very nature these pumps have particularly high surge requirements, typically 6-7 times the rated operating power. This was a big concern for me and I'm very happy that this inverter handles this surge without breaking a sweat (about half a second of an overcurrent alarm). I also used it to run a 15a table saw through the rear GFIC socket, which it did without complaint. I can't comment on the charger or the AC input as I already have a good charger that is well sized for my battery bank. Honestly for the same money I would prefer a basic low frequency inverter without all the other features but unfortunately they are nowhere to be found at the 3+kW level. However, given the $650 options available, this inverter is not to be missed. Your usual higher end options (Samlex, Magnum, Outback, Cotek, Go Power etc.) are easily 2-3 times more expensive, with surge readings measured in milliseconds rather than seconds (which are probably safety features like 'regulators' by microprocessors) . Again, I couldn't be happier for the money. Since he is able to smoothly perform the basic duties required of him, previous complaints become so minor as to be irrelevant. It's pretty quiet, and even with the fountain pump running, I haven't seen a fan turn on yet. The limited information on the AC screen is pretty accurate as far as I can tell. Comparing it to the DC display through my Midnite classic 150 it seems pretty spot on for the money given the nominal efficiency rating, tare and conversion loss etc. One of those guys who love to give out harsh negative reviews when they're doing well deserves which seems like a bit much of a ratio of products that seem to evoke these days but every once in a while I have to write something positive like this. Thank you Solinba and Lin Energy. Now only time will tell if you can keep these rewards.
