My 6 year old. Daughter is a new (and determined) climber. I received them just before their first outdoor climbing session. After reading other reviews I hesitated between 4 and 5 as she is size 1-1.5 (and sometimes 2 in sneakers). It had about an inch of toe room when they walked in, even after the heel was tightened. I asked her brother to try them on and he wears size 2.5-3. They fit him much better but with little room to grow half a size. After that, it became pretty obvious that I could get a 4, if not a 3. That's because when we actually got to the rock, when she tried to climb, the toe was bent too much and she couldn't feel small patches ... trying to grab or squeeze their toes. After the day was over I looked at these shoes and the monkey top mad rock shoes I bought for my son and they held up much better. They ran the same distances the same number of times. His pair had cracked soles after just one climb, but these butoras still looked undisturbed. 1-1.5, give her 3).
