Review on ๐Ÿ’ฆ AQUANEAT 60/130/210/320GPH Aquarium Powerhead: Enhance Your Fish Tank with Efficient Filtration, Oxygenation, and Circulation by Jennifer Romero

very uncomfortable; Seems to be underperforming

I bought the 60 GPH version to power a cyclic sponge filter for a small Betta aquarium because the air pump gurgling and buzzing was driving me crazy and I was hoping that it would provide more flow for the aquarium. Since it only has a nano hob and everything is behind a flat piece of very holey Mopani, the flow is somewhat blocked. it is quieter than an air pump. However, generating electricity through the tank is NOT very conducive. The included mounts and suction cups are rubbish. The cups are tiny and only soak up completely flat surfaces and won't stay in slots in the mount so I forgot about that and just attached them to the sponge filter tube. All the pieces fit together very loosely so it takes a lot of patience to assemble as everything will fall apart as soon as you move it. As for the exit, I'm wondering how much it actually moves. Maybe one day I'll use a pump to help change the water and see how long it takes to pump a gallon into a bucket. but it was such a PITA getting into the filter setting that I won't touch it until I have to :) TL; DR: Seems weaker than advertised, quality is questionable, wouldn't use this alone as a filtration solution. I wouldn't pay $8 again either, it's like a "$4.99 on Amazon stock" product.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • I vaguely remember
