My original key fob is broken, the metal part has fallen off. I didn't want to go to the dealer as they charge a lot for something like this. All you had to do was remove the electronics from the old one and insert a small transponder (a rectangular piece in the side recess) and a new key fob. Make sure you watch a YouTube video or two on how to change things before you do this. Also, be prepared to carefully cut away the plastic around the old transponder. Finally, you have to go to a real locksmith to duplicate the metal part of the key.
