Best blade in my arsenal

I have mostly used saw blades from a set I inherited from a deceased relative. I got a new cross cut blade from a generic manufacturer and it's fine. When I received it it was obvious it was new because it cut better than my previous cross disc. No burn marks on the wood or anything like that. But the blue finish on the blade wore off with every job I did, so it had to be sanded to remove it. I just thought it came with the territory. Then I bought this CD. This is by far the best saw blade I have ever owned or used for a number of reasons. 1) I expected the red trim to come off immediately. It's not like this. Still looks brand new after the first dozen cuts or more. 2) The advertised glue line is real. I was expecting some tool marks but there aren't any. 3) I notice vibrations on my other blades - I don't notice them here. 4) The anti-friction coating advertised really works. I hardly feel any resistance when I pierce a piece of wood. That's incredible. Now I'm thinking of replacing some of my blades with Freud's blades if they're that good.

Pros
  • Thin kerf uses less power and gives faster feed speeds
Cons
  • High price
