I work in IT and have bought several Brother products for different offices over the years. As a rule, they are quite reliable and inexpensive. As far as MFPs and faxes go, they seem to be more reliable than similarly priced devices from HP, Canon, etc. I had to write this review after my recent experience with Brother support. This device is less than a year old and is used in a business environment. . The automatic document feeder was broken and required a simple piece with a rubber grommet to push the paper into the feed roller that pulls it through the scanner. After diagnosing the problem and removing the part myself, I contacted Brother Support with pictures and explanations. After days of emails I was told to drive 80 miles round trip to take the unit to a service center. Then the service center will most likely have the device within a week or two. I asked them to send me the part and I will install it myself. Does not happen. I also tried to buy this part online myself and it is nowhere to be found. When I finally contacted a Brother service center who may have ordered this part, it turned out that it had not yet been ordered. So, I have a $600 car that cannot be used. This is a business and we need our office equipment to work on time. I deduct 4 stars because of the poor support from Brother and the lack of spare parts.
