I love this side bed. He has performed well. It could be adjusted high enough to be level with my bed, but that was the upper limit of height adjustment. Please note that the maximum height given does not include the crossbar which is folded and secured under the carrycot. This bar will affect the height above your bed if you want the cradle to slide and sit on top of your bed. I love that she is so secure on the edge of my bed and that the baby is so close yet safe in his own space. The only thing I would like to change about the cradle is to replace the fabric around the baby with a more breathable mesh as opposed to the solid polyester fabric she currently wears.
