I used this item to connect my laptop to a Baofeng portable ham radio to program the radio's memory with the simplex frequencies I use regularly and with repeaters -Frequencies, tones and offsets required to communicate with individual repeaters. This works great with the free downloadable Chirp software. Regarding the features listed by Revain for review - thickness, battery life, and sound quality - this product has no batteries, no sound, and as for the thickness, that "feature" makes no sense when discussing this topic - it's two plugs and a cable. There is no fat.
