I had to buy one of these rugs years ago. The soldering iron no longer burns on the workbench. No more flux or solder sticking to the workbench. This thing is definitely heat resistant since I was able to solder the wire to the connector while sitting right on the mat. There is no burning, no odor and the dried flux pops out instantly. A quick shake in the bin and a flush in the sink and it's good as new. The compartments and magnets come in handy for storing screws from a project I'm working on and I see it would be nice to have separate numbered locations. for repairs where there are many screws of different sizes. Great addition to the bench.
