It is the same as in the photo, nice and light. The front cover fits smoothly over the entire front. I'm an adult and not very picky about covers so I expect it to last a year or two including some air travel. For children or rude people, 6 months is normal. Look at all that wear and tear and imagine the poor iPad getting the hang of it! Mine is still untouched because of such covers. Ignore people who say they start getting damaged after a year. Pfff. Some people are just like that, can't save them from themselves. Great case for $13, it will last as long as I don't think it's too frayed. Heat sealed edges (I'm an engineer) come loose with ROUGH use. This type of plastic will become brittle (less soft) over time, but this will not be noticeable for 3-5 years. If you want the edges to be hand stitched with fishing line, you have a different price point. The point of spending $13 instead of $40 for a case is you can break or fail in a year so why pay more. You're a dropper and a henchman (note your winter coats lasted 2 years, set of 6 reduced to 4 after 50 uses), buy one of the otter covers.
