As many others have pointed out, the downside to this monitor stand is poor adjustment even at maximum torque on the set screws. I read reports of tilt issues before buying it, but I was wrong that those who encountered it either had unusual monitors or couldn't properly tighten the adjustment based on years of satisfaction with Monoprice products. I was wrong, this mount is garbage. For an old monitor that is close to its maximum supported weight, it won't take the up/down tilt at all. I bought a newer one that weighs just over half the nominal 30lbs for this mount. He couldn't resist so easily. I bought external star washers to try and help him grab. Even with them, it barely holds half the weight of the monitor. Unlike other working mounts I've had, this one only has smooth surfaces in the tilt mechanism, so it won't hold up no matter what you do. Built to fail.
